  • Year 4's visit to Tamworth Castle

As part of this term in Year 4, we had the privilege of visiting Tamworth Castle this week. This tied in perfectly with our topic work in History exploring the Anglo Saxons, Battle of Hastings and castles, as well as our Just Read text called ‘Anglo Saxon Boy’. During our visit, we were able to visit the heights of the castle tower and the depths of the dungeons. We even had the opportunity to act out historic battle drills, replicating the movements and actions that soldiers would perform.

  • Harvest Festival Assembly

On Friday afternoon, we hosted our annual Harvest Festival Assembly. Here our KS2 classes performed a number of songs about food and autumn to a hall packed full of parents and carers. This was Mr Williams' first Harvest Festival at Turves Green and he, like our parents/carers, absolute loved this event. A huge thank you to all our pupils for their wonderful great singing and narrating, to our staff for all their hard work getting our pupils ready for this performance, to our amazing parents/carers for coming in such a large number to support this wonderful event and finally a huge thank you to our wonderful Mr Millington, without whom this event would not have been possible.
