Year 4's visit to Tamworth Castle

12 Dec

As part of this term in Year 4, we had the privilege of visiting Tamworth Castle this week. This tied in perfectly with our topic work in History exploring the Anglo Saxons, Battle of Hastings and castles, as well as our Just Read text called ‘Anglo Saxon Boy’.

During our visit, we were able to visit the heights of the castle tower and the depths of the dungeons. We even had the opportunity to act out historic battle drills, replicating the movements and actions that soldiers would perform.

Both Year 4 classes enjoyed a fabulous, educational and memorable day out. The staff at Tamworth Castle were superb and provided an unforgettable experience for both of our classes. We would like to thank them for being so welcoming and for their effort in making our day so special.
