Year 3 Tom Gates

22nd May 2020

Hello my lovelies! I hope you are all being helpful (Ready), showing kindness (Respectful) and staying safe (er...Safe!).

This fortnight (18th - 31st May) should have been a big book/reading festival in a small town called Hay-on-Wye, on the border of England and Wales. The Hay Festival has been cancelled (we all know why), so many authors have given their time to make sure fans can still learn a little more about their favourite books....and maybe even find something new to try reading.

I've already watched Konnie Huq talking about her book called "Cookie!"; she showed me (and my little boy, who is the same age as you) how she comes up with her ideas, and creates the mini comic strips in the book.

Today, I have Liz Pichon talking to me through my ipad. She is the author of the "Tom Gates" series. We've done a few activities from her books, as part of our Home Learning. I am very excited, as she is talking about two new books she has written; one is a new Tom Gates book, the other is called "Shoe Wars"!

Why not take a look yourself?

Let me know what you think!
